Sacred Ground: a special place set aside for a particular purpose
We hold dear and cherish that which we spend time with, and which nourishes us.
We cannot love what we do not know.
Camp de Benneville Pines is such a place. It is sacred to UU’s for its fresh air, clear skies, towering trees, sweet soil, wildlife, and quiet spaces to think and dream. Young UU’s discover new friends and reconnect with old in a place where they sing joyfully, explore ambitiously, and try new things enthusiastically. At camp, kids connect with nature and community in ways their busy lives don’t allow for down the mountain.
Children who spend time at Camp de Benneville Pines experience the sacred in fun and kid-friendly ways. They swim, sing, create, run, play, hike, listen to a story, build a fort, roast marshmallows on the campfire, or just take the time to be a friend. There is so much to unite them at camp, so many ways to find that which is special.
All campers are well cared for by trained counselors who are guided by Unitarian Universalist principles and work to build a loving and inclusive camp community. The new and rich experiences that children encounter at Elementary School Summer Camp can be genuinely life changing. All of this, plus lovingly prepared home cooked meals and the famous camp talent show. Don’t let your child miss this opportunity to connect with the sacredness of the mountain and the experience of summer camp.
This camp is designed for campers completing 2nd through 5th grade.
